“Impostor Syndrome”…….the psychological plague

Hey all…..

Learned about the Impostor Syndrome today.Quite baffling indeed !!!

Though I had experienced it many a times especially during my interview days or examination days, I never knew what it’s called till date.(hmmm…..my ignorance)

By definition in Wikipedia, “Impostor syndrome is a psychological phenomenon in which people are unable to internalize their accomplishments. Despite external evidence of their competence, those with the syndrome remain convinced that they are frauds and do not deserve the success they have achieved. Proof of success is dismissed as luck, timing, or as a result of deceiving others into thinking they are more intelligent and competent than they believe themselves to be.Notably, impostor syndrome is particularly common among high-achieving women.”

Impostor Syndrome is not just harmful,it is life threatening. It can bring your spirits down and make you feel like nobody. It can crash all your dreams, all your plans and leave you handicapped(psychologically). It’s there for defeating your self-confidence.

So whats next? Now that we are all aware of it,and have been through it….what are we gonna do?Who are we going to ask for help?Where can we find help? … I know ,we all know the answers. It is YOU.It is you who is going to help and has all the answers.

Its YOU who achieved all the great things in life.

Its YOU who will achieve all the greatest things in life.

So lets start to remove this psychological plague…..right from this moment.

I am blessed………..I know i can recover from this disease
